Group Facilitator |
| Purpose: |
- To provide BFO–York Region with one-to-one and group facilitation support
|
| Outline of Responsibilities/Tasks: |
- Provide one-to-one support to bereaved individuals and families as referred by BFO staff
- Assist with the completion of 1-1 intakes for individuals entering BFO closed groups
- Co-facilitate closed support groups according to the agenda and guidelines supplied by BFO-YR
- Assist with scheduled Drop-in and Family Night open support programs

- To promote the mandate of BFO–York Region by ensuring that appropriate and compassionate support is available to bereaved individuals and families.

| Training and Support: |
- Orientation to Bereaved Families programs and services, policies and procedures
- Completion of Facilitator Training program (24 hours) - next training program starts September 2010.
- Opportunity to participate in additional training and development as offered by BFO and elsewhere in the community
- Availability of BFO-YR staff and/or professional advisor to de-brief, provide support and guidance as needed
- Regular opportunity to give and receive feedback, including but not limited to an annual review with the Executive Director

| Library Coordinator |
| Purpose: |
| |
To maintain Bereaved Families of Ontario - York Region's resource library |
| Outline of Responsibilities/Tasks: |
| |
Process all new library materials and maintain an up-to-date catalogue of all print and non-print materials
Ensure that shelving is consistent and tidy
Follow up on overdue materials
Optional duties may include:
Research and recommend the purchase of new materials
Develop and maintain resource lists on loss for general distribution
Assist with development and maintenance of handout materials
Read and review materials for newsletter and membership |

Office Assistant |
| Purpose: |

To provide BFO – York REgion with general clerical assistance. |
| Outline of Responsibilities/Tasks: |
| |
General typing, photocopying and filing duties
Regular update of databases, including “Loved and Remembered” and mailing lists
Process Anniversary Memory cards monthly
Assist with production of bi-monthly newsletters and other mailings
Assist as needed with administrative requirements for special events
Other tasks as may be discussed and mutually agreed upon |

Training for the tasks assigned

| Reporting Structure: |

Reports to the Executive Director. Specific tasks assigned may require reporting to another staff member |

| Telephone Support |
| Purpose: |

To provide BFO – York Region with telephone support |
| Outline of Responsibilities/Tasks: |

Answer telephone, providing information, support and referral services as needed to the bereaved and their community of care
Assist the Program Coordinator with follow-up calls for support, and to confirm group and event arrangements
Other tasks as may be discussed and mutually agreed upon |
| Outcomes/Goals: |

To promote the mandate of BFO – York Region by ensuring that appropriate information is offered to each caller, and to support the organization of BFO programs. |
| Training and Support: |
| |
Orientation to Bereaved Families and programs and services, office policy and procedures
Training for the tasks assigned, including specific training in offering support to the bereaved, participation in the Facilitator Training Program is encouraged
Opportunity to de-brief with a staff member as needed
Regular opportunity to give and receive feedback, including but not limited to an annual review with the Executive Director |
