We acknowledge York Region as the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe and the Mississauga’s of the Credit River tribes.  We also acknowledge that York Region is covered by treaty 13.  

Bereaved Families of Ontario – York Region values truth and reconciliation as a continuous and important process.  Our organization remains committed to nurturing positive relationships with all indigenous peoples in the spirit of love, peace and respect.

We remain committed to a fully inclusive community and would like to express our genuine gratitude to past, present and future indigenous generations as we collectively provide hope and healing  for those living and working on this land  - today known as York Region - who have experienced loss after the death of a loved one.
